Ever since I was gifted the Panache Andorra several months ago, I’ve been vocal for my love of this style and have recommended it to nearly all of my customers. The fit, support, and quality cannot be beat, and when I heard the Jasmine was similarly designed, I jumped at the chance to test it:
Sizing: I ordered the same size I bought in the Andorra (30HH) which fits perfectly; however, the band on the Jasmine is rather firm without the stretchier quality of other styles. If you’re between two sizes, you may want to size up for the Jasmine. Nevertheless, the support and anchorage the bra offers as a result of the firm band is rather impressive, and I feel lifted and secure in this bra even after considerable movement. The cups also fit well with all of my breast tissue encased and contained within them.
Fit: One of the things I enjoy about the Andorra is how the wires are not as wide as some of Panache’s other styles and how the cups/wings do not sit quite so high under the side. The Jasmine utilizes this design strategy to great effect, and I feel supported and contained without needing to worry about chaffing or rubbing. Furthermore, I feel like the Jasmine has a slightly lower cup and center gore than the Andorra which creates more of an open chest. The Jasmine also uses the same inner side sling as the Andorra to give forward projection and added side support. Finally, the lift the bra provides is phenomenal so much so that I . . . erm . . . popped a button on one of my older J. Crew tops the other day because of how high my boobs were sitting.
Materials: A key selling point for me was that both the Jasmine and Andorra utilize a soft stretch lace at the top of the cup. I sometimes have trouble with bras that use less flexible fabric near the top because they either don’t contour to my bust shape properly or they dig into the tissue. The stretchy, soft lace ensures the cup of the bra always fits perfectly even if the shape or size of my bust fluctuates. Additionally, I love the fully-adjustable strap which features a felted underside so it feels soft against the skin. The strap itself has less stretch than any other style I own and never digs into my shoulders. My only initial caveat with the materials was the gorgeous printed fabric. It felt VERY rigid and stiff, bordering on scratchy. However, I know Panache can starch some of their bras to the point of allowing them to stand up and walk by themselves, and I was willing to reserve judgment until I wore and washed the bra. To be honest, the first day was a little painful, but after a quick wash, the stiffness drastically faded so the bra felt more comfortable. I imagine after the rest of the starch is washed out, the material will be soft and smooth.
Design: I love the way the Andorra looks on me, so I was equally excited for the Jasmine. As I mentioned, I like how the Jasmine seems to be slightly lower in the front than the Andorra, but my favorite aspect is the printed pattern. The colorful birds playfully arranged among grass and bamboo shoots has an Asian vibe, but it also fits perfectly with the trend we’re seeing for unique prints. In fact, I feel like this is a darker version of the upcoming Freya “Just Flew In” set.
The stretch lace top cup plays perfectly off the print, and I feel like this is a great way for me to get the versatility of a black bra with something fun thrown into the mix. Lastly, the discreet seaming makes this another tee shirt friendly fashion style which blends well under most tops.
Other Comments: I forewent the matching pants because of my realization that I don’t really need matching underwear for every bra I own, but I was pleasantly surprised that my black Andorra shorts perfectly match the lace on the top part of the cup! So, when I feel like being matchy-matchy, I’m whipping those out instead.
