A Sophisticated Notion

The last few weeks my posts dwindled as I grappled with working, a long commute, and the ensuing problems created by the former two within my aunt’s sphere of care. I always struggle with work/life balance, but when it became a trifecta of work/life/family, my “life” component withered and tucked its already sparse foliage inward. However, I want to focus on the positive! Right now, I am working in the women’s lingerie and activewear department of Nordstrom in Durham at the Streets of Southpoint. While I have this opportunity and the exciting benefits it provides, I am posting my hours this week for my former customers. Ya know, in case you need a proper bra fitting and want to visit me! Remember: Ask for Erica!

Nordstrom Fitting Hours - June 13th: 1p.m. to 8p.m., June 14th & 15th: 10a.m. to 6p.m., June 16th: Unavailable, June 17th: 11a.m. to 6p.m. June 18th: Unavailable

Because I work for a corporate brand, I want to be clear about the experience at Nordstrom versus my store:

  • Men are not allowed in fitting rooms in lingerie, whether to shop with their partners or to be fitted themselves. For male fittings, I can arrange to fit you in activewear or personal style.
  • I am limited to what Nordstrom stocks or can order. However, orders ship for free and often arrive within seven days.
  • The sizes in-store skew heavily toward the US 32-40B-H range (UK 32-40B-FF), but they do go as high as a US 42L (UK 42HH) and have multiple Elomi styles in the UK 34-40 G-HH.
  • The brands primarily stocked in-store are b.tempt’d, Chantelle, Elomi, Fantasie, True & Co., and Wacoal. However, if you see an item on their online platform, I can order it for you.
  • They do not stock Panache at all. There is no maternity section, and the only sports bra stocked in-store is from Natori.
  • To find your previous purchases from A Sophisticated Pair, visit the Contact Page before visiting Nordstrom.
  • To connect with me in advance and take advantage of style boards, wish lists, and Nordstrom purchase history, please use the following link.
  • This last one pains me to write because I miss you dearly, but if we’re busy, I need to help people quickly out of respect both for my employer and for my coworkers.

I still look forward to seeing everyone and hope you’ll stop by to take advantage while you can!

P.S. New content arrives here this week, including another review!
